Wayside Inn Portrait Party

I love portrait parties. Who ever came up with the idea is genius, especially to moms who can't get enough photos of their kids. Taking a break from all the packing, we participated in yet another portrait party this weekend with Megan from Perspectives Photography. The shoot was at the Wayside Inn which was too close to refuse.

Here are a couple teaser pics.

Already looking forward to the next portrait party... at the beach!

Wednesdays with Nicholas (and Enzo)

Taking advantage of my Wednesdays at home, Nicholas and I have been able to make a few fun excursions together. Lucky for us, Enzo and Eve have been able to join us.

Our first outing was to the Southwicks Zoo in Mendon. It was a cool and rainy June day but perfect for a crowd free visit. Lions, tigers, monkeys, and feeding deer were only a part of the fun.
Southwicks has plenty of fun rides as well. Nicholas was looking forward to riding the cars until he realized he was the only one on the ride.

We did enjoy bouncing in the Bouncy house, just not the pictures mommy was trying to capture.
Yesterday our town held Truck Day at the library. A firetruck, snow plow, dumptruck, digger, police car, police motorcycle, and school bus were parked in the parking lot for kids of all ages to climb on and explore.
Our first trip to the firetruck was met with lots of apprehension.
After seeing and sitting next to some "big kids" in the police cruiser, Nicholas was a bit more adventurous.
He especially enjoyed playing with the computer.
Let's hope this is the only time you see any of us in this seat.
Like I said, Nicholas was a bit apprehensive and certainly was not cooperative to photo ops.
Luckily he warmed up to exploring the trucks, unluckily this was about the time that the lines got long. The drivers seat on the firetruck had a long line but we were able to get into the backseat with no problem.
Can you believe he even tried on the gas mask?!?!
No fear from this little guy.
Thanks for coming out with us Enzo and Eve. Can't wait for our next outing.

10 for Tuesday

1. Alexa is a teething machine. In the last week, 5 teeth have started to emerge. Both her second bottom two, her right upper front, and both second uppers. I cannot wait for it to be over.

2. Last night Nicholas told me he wanted his crib back. I feel awful.

3. Even though he misses his crib, I do believe he's enjoying his big boy bed a little bit. The bed enables him to watch cars drive by into the wee hours of the night.

4. We are still looking for some place to live come August 7th. The pickings are slim indeed; unless we're willing to live in dumps, on highways, or under high powered electrical wires.

5. Despite needing to pack up an entire household, I am toying with the idea of putting off the packing and go to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince tomorrow.

6. The buyer's lending bank's appraisal is going on later this afternoon. Recently strictly rules have been put in place after the recent financial collapse of lenders (Thank you Barney Frank...NOT!). Apparently 15-20% of homes under contract are not closing because of these rules. Fingers crossed ours is not one of them.

7. We went back to Skaket this past weekend. We could not keep Alexa still and were very thankful for the low tide. She crawled forever on that beach and had we not turned her around every time she got too far in the water she's probably be in France by now.

8. I LOVE this teeny tiny beach bum shirt of Alexa's.

9. Here's Alexa showing off a SurfDuk suit we got from Auntie Karyn...
and Nicholas building more sand castles.

10. I am selling off a ton of baby stuff on Craigslist. It's hard because of the memories but I cannot wait to use teh money and get an SLR camera to hopefully start taking some decent pictures of the kids.

Change

In more than one way, today is marked as a day of change.

A few hours from now, Jim and I will be signing our Purchase and Sale agreement on our home.
While Jim and I are anxious about the reality of the sale setting in, I think we'll enjoy renting for a short period. If we can get past the actual moving part, oh, and find a place to live.

Another noteable is last night was Nicholas' last night in his crib. Even though he sleeps fine in a twin at Mom and Dad's, he loves his crib. He's never climbed out but he's climbed in to get cozy and read some books. After he was put down last night, Nicholas spent some time babbling. We're unsure if he was talking to himself, the crib, or his stuffed animal friends; Eenie Meanie, Winky, and Puppy.

Deja Vu

I've been here before. I've even written about it before. Different form of precipitation but the blah feelings and eagerness for a different weather pattern is definitely the same. I've lost count at how many rainy days we've had over the last month but the fabulous sunny weather we had this past weekend was most certainly a pleasant change on the verge of depressing tease.

Happy 4th of July!

Just a couple quick pics of the kiddos from yesterday. We were so thankful for such great weather. Of course we spent as much time as possible at the beach.
Nicholas was not in the mood for photographs but this look is so him.
Happy 4th of July everyone.
